The Real Leverage Is Eliminating Work, Not Creating More
The biggest mistake teams make with AI is using it to produce more. More content. More analysis. More reports. But volume isn't value. The real leverage comes from eliminating steps entirely.
Instead of generating a draft that someone edits, can you generate a final version? Instead of summarizing a document for review, can you extract the decision and execute it? Instead of alerting a human to take action, can the system take action and notify them after?
The best AI systems collapse multi-step processes into single triggers. They don't assist workflows. They replace them. A five-step approval process becomes a one-click decision. A 20-minute data entry task disappears completely.
Winning with AI means doing less, not more. It means identifying the work that shouldn't exist in the first place and using intelligence to eliminate it. That's where the ROI lives. Not in augmentation, but in abolition.
What Actually Matters
AI isn't a product. It's a capability inside a system. And systems are won or lost on the details most people ignore. The triggers. The context. The validation. The workflow design. The orchestration logic.
If you're building with AI, stop thinking about what the model can do. Start thinking about what the system should accomplish. Build backward from the outcome. Design for reliability before speed. Obsess over orchestration, not just prompts.
